Manganese was discovered by Johan Gottlieb Gahn, a swedish chemist, in 1774.
Manganese was found in Greece and
named after Greece's old name "Magnesia".
Uses for Manganese
Manganese is used to dry batteries to
prevent the formation of hydrogen,
to remove paint from glass
and used to dry agent in black paints.
